windwalker18 - nice avatar puppy.......

another thing to consider is buying an older import dog that can help to teach you the sport and handling.......and then once you are proficient, buying a puppy to train.........This may be a way to avoid many of the newbe mistakes and have time to learn all the ropes..........before buying a puppy.

just a thought........

by crhuerta on 25 September 2009 - 01:09

Hurrah,
There are numerous experienced & established breeders on this site....ask questions.
None of us can "guarantee" that we can produce your "perfect" puppy.........all puppies are individuals, and none of us have "crystal balls" to see in the future......however; saying that......a reputable, experienced breeder can tell you if any of the puppies fit your specific criteria........"always matching the puppy to the buyer".....

TAKE YOUR TIME.......it'll be worth it!
Best of luck to you!

"OH, my TessJ10, don't you think that just MABYE there were females in this litter too?"

No dice, SitasMom, you said NOTHING about any other puppies in a litter.  You pushed an older puppy, a MALE.  Just like you did on the other thread where someone specifically asked for a ddr female and you posted a Czech male.  (Just like you cut & paste what other people write and pass it off as your own).  So now you're pretending that the whole litter, males & females, is being grown out by the seller?  Funny you didn't say that before.  You're so full of it.

You are either uncaring or stupid, and just like hodie and rocknrolla and everybody else has started doing, we're sick of it and you're gonna get called on it every. single.time.  So straighten up and fly right, because you WILL be caught in your crap.  You've been called out a lot over the past few days.  So think before you post.  Or else you'd better skedaddle on back to your endless OT threads and stay out of the dog discussion because you don't know jack about dogs.  And go peddle your puppies at PetSmart.  Poor Hurrah comes here, admits he/she is a novice to Schutzhund and here you come pushing your puppies.  Yeah, for God's sake, how much of a help are YOU going to be in getting someone started in the sport of Schutzhund?

Hurrah, you'd best be VERY careful from whom you buy your dog.  May I suggest you read the posts of those on here pushing puppies at you.  It will be very informative.

Tess, I will no longer respond to you........you are too much a stalker......

IF you are looking for a dog to seriously compete with in schutzhund, stick with working lines.  The best thing you can do at this point is go to the various schutzhund clubs in your area.  Get to know the members.  It won't take long to figure out who knows what they are talking about and who  doesn't.   They will be able to point you in the right direction of good working line breeders.

I do!  And to me that is an attractive puppy, I'd take him home in a minute, although I know the working lines folks on here might disagree.  I think Hanny is lovely, and unlike others on here I have no problem with someone buying a proven, titled, bred bitch to get started.  Frankly I think it's a great way to get started in the breed/sport of your choice.   If one can do that, great.   However, that's only the very very beginning.  One still needs to study, listen (which involves shutting up), train, read, and Get Out There on the training field to begin to learn, and not to believe that possession has immediately conferred knowledge.  Because it hasn't.  Obviously.

Hurrah..

many, many great breeders out there. Talk to them , goodle them, talk to them even more.

Tess10 very interesting.. I am the oposite. I bring up my own females (puppy I buy) train her and title her and work her so I know exactly what I am working with. The same for my males.

I like to be able to tell my customer exactly what is going on. I love the fact that I KNOW..
I am a huge believer work with the bloodlines that you produce, get to know them, draw backs.. pluses, negatives, challenges. I know of huge amout of breeders that have no idea how to work a dog, strong, dog, weaker dog.. tough dog. They just go by pedigrees. I would probably never buy a puppy from them because they can not help me to understand what I am going through with the dog.

Unknown, lack of knowledge kills me since I take huge responsibility for my breedings.

sitasmom.. no offence I have to agree, this is second time (I observed) you pushing some other dog on somebody. Not cool. Let them decide. Second time the wrong sex...

"Tess10 very interesting.. I am the oposite. I bring up my own females (puppy I buy) train her and title her and work her so I know exactly what I am working with. The same for my males."

I agree with you.  I've done that twice - bought an 8wk old puppy.  Did my research on the bloodlines and the breeders and knew I was taking a gamble, but the breeder wanted to sell them at 8 wks and my puppies turned out great.  (I'm a pretty good puppy picker, though - LOL).  So for sport, training, competing, I agree with you and how you do it.   You are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT about how much you learn and understand about your lines when you've raised them up and trained them.  Invaluable education.  But obviously some people don't understand that.

What I meant about purchasing the bitch was if I wanted to be a breeder.  I should've made that clear.  I'd still buy the younger dog and be training it - SM does have a young dog.  Then if I wanted to be a breeder/trainer/competitor, I can understand buying a proven, titled bitch if the one I was looking for came up for sale.  Now IMHO this case is slightly backwards in that I can see buying a bred bitch, but here SM's already has offspring from this same bitch.  You have the genes.  Why go back and buy that particular bitch when you already have her offspring and are at your dog limit with zoning without the puppies? I would've looked for a different bitch, something to complement the bloodlines I already have.  But then I'm not looking for a bitch "to pay for herself."
