Jyl

by Jyl on 07 June 2010 - 15:06

Thanks Adi. That is what I thought you were refering too him being a monorchid.

by Adi Ibrahimbegovic on 07 June 2010 - 16:06

Yes, I was surprised that he mentioned him, the dog never sired a littler in his lfie and Jogi Zank is doing what he should be doing with such a superior dog - competing and winning. Sometimes, it's juct a luck of the draw, God gave him a great competitor, but zero stud.

Now, he COULD HAVE BEEN a great stud, if not for that flaw. The dog's accomplishments speak for themselves, he and his handler are on top of their game. But, oh well... It is a shame.

Now, the other dogs he mentioned, instead of Javir, I'd use John, if it were me.

Also, if I were to get a puppy right now (god knows I don't need it), the dog I would look at more closely than the others is
Opal Röderburg, asI believe he is the shit right now.

That would take care of the male side. Now, in my opinion female is actualy MORE important than the male, so I would look even harder for a good female.

But, that's only me and only internet banter.

UrLuckyHour,

One more thing, no one is going to care more about what you want in a dog than you. Don't take the word of any breeder, they will tell you whatever you want to hear. Not intending to disrespect anyone, but they are in the business to sell dogs. Like anyone trying to sell something, they will highlight the positives, and minimize the negatives. That's why it's so important to do your own research.

Like charlie319 stated, make a list of the 5 most important factors in your decision for what you want in a dog and what you want out of it. Don't be fooled into thinking that if a dog isn't in the top spots or podium positions in trials or championships, that it is not good producer. That’s why you need to research, because if you don't, you may never find those great ones. I have spent many months looking for a great pup from great working lines on both sides. I have gone down many different roads just to find that wasn't what I wanted and had to start at square one again. Find someone that you can trust, that knows really great German breeders and those breeders know the really great producers. If you can find that person, it will open better doors for you. I was lucky enough to find such a person and everything came together really well. Even with finding great lines, getting a young pup is always a gamble, you will really not know what you have until it starts to mature

Good luck, I know what you’re going through, I just went through it myself. But trust me, there will always be another great dog to come around, be patient, stick to what you really want and it will work out for you.

That is, if you were asking about Opal?

Were you asking about John Talka Marda?

by UrLuckyHour on 08 June 2010 - 10:06

Adi - thank you for Opal's owner website

by Adi Ibrahimbegovic on 08 June 2010 - 11:06
