I have a Tom z PS grand daughter.  Goes back to Grim on the maternal side as well as a Car littermate.  Very stable.  No environmental issues.  Doesn't pout or shut down after a hard correction.  Does not have an off switch though.  No matter what she is doing, she always has one ear turned toward me.  Least little whistle and she is right back.

Hey Lael,
Yes, your dog has a great pedigree.  Galant is one gorgeous dog and produces well also.  Your female is really nice.  I really like her temperament.

Thank you, again!

I find it interesting some of what I've read from people about Czech dogs being too hard or too aggressive but I don't see it that way in the ones I've met.  Now your fella, of course he has a very specific job where you need a degree of defensiveness that I obviously don't in my girl but what I saw of him, he looked to be very well balanced and good tempered about everything that was going on.

I would agree that they're 'hard' dogs in that they don't shut down after a strong correction but I've not experienced any hint of handler aggression. (Generalizing here of course, any dog can break if pushed hard/unfairly).

I still think your boy should have been fastest! ;D

But going on, I'm experiencing more and more of this balanced confidence in the Czech dogs like the one in the pedigree of the OP, your Liam and my Hanni and I will definitely be wanting Czech lines when the time comes for my next puppy.

I don't know what there is to not like about that ped.  I would love to have some Norbo, and I am a fan of the strong Czech lines.  Anribri turns out some nice dogs and the rest speak for themselves.  If you are looking at potential LE. or other serious work, I don't think you can get better odds.   I believe the Czech dogs have less problems with hips and other medical issues.  At least as important, they seem to have a very high success rate for producing good solid dogs of courage and balance.  Personally I like a little ddr in there, but that is a crap shoot IMO.  Good luck

Forgot something.  Breeding is far more than just getting two good dogs that have good pedigrees.  This is not my expertise, but their are those on here that are very knowledgeable.  Hope some of them join in here.

I am a big fan of the Czech dogs. I have 2 females. I looked at the pedigree to your Police Dog.....the one Czech female I have is VERY closely related to your guy.  You dogs dam is Anita Auto Dam.....my females grandmother on the bottom half is a sister to your boys mom.....

The pedigree is very very strong for working aspects in terms of physical and mental history. the linebreeding on Cordon would be a plus if the future of the dog is LE as cordon had a strong aggression component in his makeup. the one caution I would have in on hips. There are dogs in this pedigree that will produce hip issues. I know that all dogs do, but some of the great working lines, (like Bungalow, Korbelbach), do have hip issues if you have too much of it . Overall, this is great pedigree genetically, and I would accept a puppy out of it. BTW, I have dogs with lines to Norbo, Tom, Grim, Omar, etc that I currently own.

gustav
Im not too worried about hips  in this breeding
both sire and dam are clear on hips and elbows  , and the dam ,all of her littermates are clear on hips exept for one who is A fast normaal
also I have another female from the same mother bred to damien plavno who is also perfect on hips and elbows , so I dont worry too much about that

what do you mean by  , if the future of the dog is LE
my fav. lines are cordon and gero chmelovy kvitek offspring , also healthy strong high drive but social

Hey Jyl,
I checked out your females pedigree, very nice.  Yes Aida is a litter mate to Anita.  Excellent females and producers.  Anita is the mother to Debbie Zappia's dog Jai.  I've seen Jai and he is fantastic.  Anita has produced several dogs that have gone to the Nationals or are working as police k-9's.  When I picked up my dog "Boomer" I met Anita and she is a great female.  Sadly she has welped her last litter and now is retired from breeding.

Gustav, you are right about the aggression.  My male (in theavatar) is great with me and my wife.  But I don't let strangers approach and pet him.  He is very civil, very confident and has a strong temperament.  If someone tries pet his head he gives a very low, serious growl which escalates into a louder deeper growl.  There is no mistaking what will happen next.  Even while working the street he never goes into a rage.  He is serious with controlled agression.  When he does bite a suspect it is one crushing, full hard bite.  The more the suspect fights his aggression comes out more and more.   Hes a great police dog, but not thedog you bring to the family picnic.

Jim
