I think he looks fine,
Large doesn't bother me at all.
You can add some fat to his diet if you think he's thin, and it never hurts in cold weather to fatten one up a bit if they spend a lot of time out doors.
He looks like a house dog from the photos...:)
I also would not rush to have him neutered unless you have a need to do so.
Give him the training and socializing he needs now before anymore time passes.

I still think he is a very nice dog, lean is good, he is holding up with his frame and weight. I do not mind large dogs, they are very good workers. My Sabin is a very large male and if it was not for him I would not get alot done around the farm. With the socialization, make sure it is with other animals also.
