The First Truly Great dog to come to America was Champion SGR (A/B/F) GVCH(US) Apollo von Hühnenstein, 182499, Imported by Elmview in 1914. He was whelped February 20, 1912, had become the Austrian and Belgium Champion of the year 1913, French and German Champion of the 1914. He easily won his American championship, but was neglected in the stud in favor of CH Nero Alfolter, his kennel mate. He had been mated in Germany before shipment to the greatest of all brood bitches, Flora (Berkemeyer) SZ 25573, and was sire of her most successful litter, which included Dörte von Riedekenburg, Diethelm von Riedekenburg, Danko von Riedekenburg, Drusus, and Dulo von Riedekenburg.
