Odin vom Busecker Schloß was light gray, large, heavy and powerful with a great middle-piece and could've used more shoulder angulation. He was rated V1 Excellent by Dr. Sachs on the 19th of September 1936. Described as bold & aggressive, Odin was in fact over aggressive and not readily approachable. He had one missing premolar.
Odin and his paternal half brother SGR 1937/8GV CH (US) Pfeffer von Bern met in competition in 1937 with Pfeffer von Bern being crowned das Sieger that year.

Odin vom Busecker Schloß was especially notable for his strength of back and transmission of power. He was a magnificent mover at a fast trot. West coast breeders used him extensively with excellent results while the wisest of the east coast breeders in the United States sent their absolute best females to him.

To choose the best of his get is not easy, However, these are worthy of mention.
1. CH (US) Tasso of Villa Marlena owned by Mr & Mrs Heckert & Bred by Lee Duncan (Owner of Rin Tin Tin)
2. CH (US) Boris of San Miguel Bred & owned by Rancho San Miguel Kennels
3. CH (US) Nocturne of Grettamarc, owned by Mrs Arthur Schwind of Sherman Oaks, California.

As I noted Odin has what appears to be a heavy head (in several pix), and always have a problem with the large size/big bone of modern German dogs, I was tickled to find this comment about Odin from the Sieger Show:

Germany Sieger Show---September 19th, 1936---V1-Excellent

"Fully developed. Very good body construction and a far reaching gait. Appears to me today to be of a dry type of herding dog, but however, somewhat over heavy and therefore does not show in the long gaiting the energy or endurance of a herding dog. One premolar missing."

Also:

Frankfurt Sieger Show/Young Dog Class---Top seven dogs

"... very good in structure, but, for his age, very big and heavy."

He was noted as 88 lbs and larger than the even more famous Pfeffer v. Bern. Modern trendies, please take note.

This is a dog pedigree, used by breeders and breed enthusiasts to see the ancestry and line-breeding of that individual dog. The pedigree page also contains links to the dogs siblings and progeny (if any exist). For dog owners with purebred dogs this is an excellent resource to study their dog's lineage.
