Any dog can do or be entered int Schutzhund and have a score book and compete and get titled in all Schutz 1 , 2 , 3, Bh, FH....they cannot get a kk rating at all   ..not acceptible for breeding as of sv yet... You can title a dog from the dog pound .like  Steve Leigh did..one of the best dogs ever to earn a title was his dog Barkus Sch, 2,  He paid $25.00 for him   ...Ask Gene ENGLAND...??? Ask Steve Leigh

A true club will check for breed standard first.  Your long coat will not get to compete.

http://www.sl-prokeys.com/wffcw/sl_bar.htm    Here is one page where Steve talks about Barkasse and shows pics of him taking a tire off of a tree knot  up 9 ' in the air..He mentions that Barkasse is his pound pup...Click on the   OUR Family and you have the list and more pics of Barkasse....Notice  the pound dog was the emblem on the Van for his Training School..

This is a $25.00 unregistered gsd from the pound,, that he took in and trained and ended up one of the greatest dogs he ever owned and he had Greif z Lahntal sons in his ownership....So do not ever sell a dog short...He does not have to have a pedigree or even be registered..  He gets a score book and his titles. No kk no breed survey, in other words.

If your dog can do the work it can compete.  Whether it meets the breed standard or not really does'nt enter into the equation.  You can get a schutzhund title on any dog that can do the work even a mix breed.

Any dog that can perform the exercises, can get titled in schutzhund even a Jack russell, it's to test a dogs temperment and working ability,
