I got my boy Blade back on January 8th from Red Dirt Kennels, and I'd love to get more understanding of his pedigree! Please be kind, I am new to a lot of this stuff :)

His dam and sire are registered here, as well as two of his siblings in his litter, but he isn't, so I'm not sure if I'm meant to or the breeder. I hope someone here knows more bout his lines, since I've not a clue!

Sire:

Your dog is all American Showline. I am not an American line person so I don t know anything about the dogs in him. They seem to be hit and miss with the titles.
It's easy enough for you to add him in the database. Just go to the register a dog section, and put his name and pick the parents from the Dropbox. Not hard at all, pretty self explanatory as you go.
Seems to have several Chams in there. Don t know what your plans for him are, but you probly get involved in whatever you want to do with him. If you don t excel in one thing, try another. You won t know what his capabilities are until you try it.

I think she means 'champions' (which is abbreviated Ch. in the pedigrees.)

Yes SS, that is what I meant. My son says to me all the time, Ma, you need to spell check before you hit the send button. I have to laugh about that. When my sister wuzzup was here , I used to cringe every time I seen her posts. Her spelling was atrocious.
And to OP, you should have no problems doing what you want to do with your dog. If nothing else, just go out there and have fun with him. You'll both be happy

Hello...It appears as though your boy is out of Showlines...He is a Light Sable (color)
I too am not a Showline person so maybe someone else can help you with the particular dogs in his pedigree...
I will just tell you you make out of your dog what you want and what you put into them...So choose whatever you want to do and try it...Some dogs are good at somethings and not so good at others...So find out what he's good at and you two enjoy it...

Appears to have a few Chams in there. Wear t understand what your arrangements for him are, however, you probably engage in anything you desire to do with him. Assuming you wear t succeed in a certain something, attempt another. You won t understand what his abilities are until you attempt it.

As Andy J said, you won't know what your dog is most capable of until you have a go at things. All are individuals, some of the Showlines can be a bit dim or nervy in comparison to Working bred dogs, most may not do very well at IGP - but some will make excellent Obedience competition dogs, some will do great at Tracking, or Rally for instance. Join Clubs.Try things that appeal to you, see how you & the pup get on ! I once turned a reasonably successful Show female into an Ob. dog (though a little different as a UK/ German Showline, not American). Best of luck.
