At the beginning of the summer I sold my 2 year old GSD female. She had gone through 3 heats before I mated her with my 2 year old GSD male. She never became pregnant. I sold her and 3 months later the new owner lets me know she had her first litter. My male shows no interest in another female I have that has had one litter. Is my male sterile? Or am I just impatient?

To know if it is you or him take you dog to the vet for a sperm count.  If all is well there then it is your lack of knowledge.

That is what I was afraid of. It seems everyone else doesn't have a problem having a successful mate. I've taken my dogs to the vet, listen to his advice and teachings, do everything I'm supposed to, and I have no results.

What does the vet say about the sperm count.

If you own both dogs leave them together, if she is in season they will figure it out, been happening for many years without help. I should say put them together twice a day 3 hr or so until she is pregnant.  He will not pay much attention if she is not in season.

Reminds of a women who fully believed that sheep could not breed if their tails were not docked.

I had to ask her who was/what was docking the tails before man came and did it.

Yet they still had lambs.

Where ( country)  did you got the male and how old was he when got him. Is he titled? Was he bred at the place where he came from and was the breeding successful? Believe me, my seemingly irrelevant questions have relevance.
