I've been feeding my two Shepherds TOTW for quite a while now. The one in the picture is about to be 11 months old, and he's been on it since I got him at 8 weeks. The other Shepherd turns 2 at the end of this month. I've always been told the better quality the food the less they go #2. (Lovely subject, I know) But it is a minimal of 3-4 times a day. Healthy stools, and the dogs seem to be doing well overall on it, but that doesn't seem normal. There are certain reasons I can't and won't do a raw diet, but, what have you guys had good luck with in that regard?

Not a huge fan of TOTW anymore, tons of recalls by their company. I'm feeding my dogs raw and several formulas of Farmina. I have some older SUPER active females and young pups (pups are fed half Farmina and half Fromm). They're all doing very well on Farmina. They have high energy levels, shiny coats and go "number 2" about once or twice a day at most, and the stools are very solid.
Not to mention the dogs absolutely love it. I never have to add anything to the food to make them eat the Farmina, we even use it as treats for the puppies since they like it so much. It's a bit expensive but I think you get what you pay for in this circumstance.

Unlike Delta von Avalik I have not fed Farmina yet, am having good luck with Petcurean products they have several really good ones. Have used all of them at one time or another am using Organic formula now called Gather "Fish" and also Chicken formula. Both are good. Nan

I have my 3mo old on Acana and he goes #2 at least 3-4 times a day. All normal stools but...... I will be transitioning him to Vital Essentials for eve meals after he gets used to the Acana beef since he’s been on the free range chicken, I like rotating foods. He will eventually be on all raw since he’s the only dog in the house.

Jettasmom I'd expect that on a 3 month old. But I have one who is turning 2 years old this month and another who turns 1 year old in June.

Delta von Avalik, where do you normally buy Farmina?

I usually order straight from the site: https://www.farmina.com/us/eshop
Chewy.com does carry a few of the formulas but not many... I also noticed the best prices are just on the farmina site itself.

Thank you "delta." I will check that out.

And jettasmom, at 3 months, I'd expect that. I'm no expert though.

I think at 3 months with 3 feedings 3 poops is normal on raw or dry.

Adult on raw 1 small poop a day.

We feed Victor. Our dogs go twice a day. One dog is 7 yrs old and the other is 10 months old.
