Hello house, I've been looking online to find recent GSDs that Are excelling in Rings Sports such as NVBK and KNPV. Yes I know these sports are dominated by Malinois but I just need the few GSDs for proofing.
Any links to such dogs and their pedigrees will be fully appreciated.

I found Gento von haus Larwin a DDR, but that's in the 80s. I need recent years dogs.

I don't consider KNPV to be a ring sport. Gento's owner thought it was a waste to compete him in schutzhund because he was such a tough dog, but he was very biddable. There is a kennel in France that breeds GSDs for French Ring, but I don't know if they even export. It is Du val des hurles vent.

You can go the the North American Ring Association website and e-mail inquiring about GSDs bred for ring sport, but I think your choices will be limited. The various sports have an impact on the traits that are selected for in breeding as well as the breeds that excel in them.

Yes, you're very correct. It has an impact!
I actually made this post cos I was having an argument with a malinois owner who believes IPO is now a washed down soft sport. And that GSDs can't excel in other big sports again. I made him understand that comparison of both breeds is wrong and that "good dogs are where you find them " regardless of breeds.

But a GSD could be a good dog in IPO and not good in ring sports because of the differences in the sports and the traits the dogs are bred for. Ring sports need a dog with a lot of endurance and agility because the difference phases are done without breaks (IPO breaks up the phases) and the jumps are longer/higher with a straight wall instead of an A frame. So even though Mals dominant, a KNPV Mal might not do so well because they are selectively bred to be police dogs and tend to be larger due to being outcrossed to other breeds to increase size. So it is not just the breed, but also the line of the breed. French Mals tend to be smaller so they are more agile and have more endurance. Also the bites in the ring sports are typically longer, so you need a dog with a lot of prey/bite drive. In French Ring, the decoy is very active and can give the dog dozens of hits with a clatter stick instead of a few with a padded stick as in IPO. So if you want a GSD for ring sports you really need to find a breeder that breeds them specifically for that.
