What are you feeding? Some foods contain high amounts of phytoestrogens which can make conception difficult.

Jenni, what is considered 'high amounts of phtoestrogen' ?
Would alphalfa meal #8 and flax seed #9 be a lot?
Just had a bitch come up empty. First time bred 3 yr old female. 4 yr healthy strong male.

Recently, on a FB breeder discussion, a lot of people feeding grain-free foods with legumes such as lentils were having a lot of females come up empty. All the foods had several legumes plus flax. Food change and next cycle, same females conceived.

Thanks, Jenn. Actually this is the first bitch I had come up empty on this feed. Last litter was a first time litter and no problem. This female now is very pushy and would rather not submit to a male, so, probly not the feed.
I know I had a broblem using totw years ago, plus dogs loosing weight and a friend had the same problem. Never thought about the photoestrogen....I remember that stuff has a lot of legumes.
