Susie what can one say it is the USA and they were not sure she would have another litter and wanted pups from both males.

Yep, Susie! In the US, a bitch can be intentionally naturally bred or artificially inseminated by more than one stud, and once the pups are whelped, the breeder must submit the DNA for each pup so the correct sire can be identified for each pup. [This can also be done in cases where a female is accidently bred by more than one male.]

Pretty weird...
Thank you for the explanation

It's pretty useful in situations like this, where the bitch has been out in the show ring [could just as easily be out on the trial fields] for most of her adult life, and now is retired from there at the age of 6 years before ever having her first litter--the breeder can possibly get two litters from one whelping, to make up a bit for those years that were lost to campaigning.

Of course, there's no guarantee that the pups will be from the two different sires--in many instances, only one male's sperm got to the eggs at the right time for fertilization, and all the pups are from that one stud. But it's worth a shot in some instances.

Anyone know who the sires are?

You're kidding me!!  Omg Smile

Well THAT'S certainly the biggest surprise I've had in a long, long time!

I was sure the sire would be some well known American show line. Cowboy seemed like a logical choice.

Didn't Cowboy pass away?
