PDB has several members that help enter dogs from pedigrees that they have collected over the years. Some members even have the authority to add information to dogs that have been entered by other members. These members who enter pedigree information may have no connection to the dog whatsoever and probably are entering information about dogs that they do not own nor know anything about other than the pedigree information. They are just trying to make PDB a better database for all its members.

So just because you see a members name on a pedigree, DO NOT ASSUME THAT THEY OWNED THE DOG or even know anything about the dog. If you want to inquire politely about something, that is fine, but some of these helpers have been getting nasty notes on Facebook about the entries.
Please do not do this. If you think that someone has entered incorrect data on PDB, please contact me or one of the other Admins.
When you see a members name after the "created by", It does not mean that that member owns the dog, nor does it mean that that person entered the dog on PDB, it merely means that was the last person to write anything on the pedigree. That is why you will see my "FANTOM76" on many, many dogs as I usually add something to about 75% of the new dogs entered on PDB.

Remember. You may be the owner of a dog, but anyone can enter a dogs information on PDB and become the creator of that dogs pedigree. How else do you think all these dog pedigrees got on PDB.....think about dogs born 50 years ago.

So if you see that someone else has entered your dogs name and information on PDB, that is the way that PDB works and they have a perfect right to do that as long as what they enter is correct and true.  Members also have the right to add information to the pedigree of "a dog that you own",  Again as long as it is correct and true.

According to the Terms of service, which every member is supposed to read when registering with PDB, the pedigree collections assembled on PDB are the intellectual property of the PDB.  An as such, we can make any corrections, additions or deletions to a pedigree or have a helper do the same.

DO NOT SEND PM's or WRITE ON FACEBOOK about changes made by someone else to a dog that you own .  If it is not correct...Send a PM to me or another Admin
