by beetree on 27 May 2017 - 01:05

I think I would rather serve them ... and then see what happens? I will pretend to eat them. I will be sure to be ready with 911 on speed dial.

just put on Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds by the Beatles. Your guinea pigs will have a good trip. 😉

Can you video the response when they eat them please.

Fun fact: apparently in the acting world when there is a large crowd of actors having to appear to all be talking in the background they all just randomly say "rhubarb" the cumulative sound comes across as a conversation.

Neighbor kid was in a school play and told me, fascinating.

I can't do it. Not to the kids, any way. I bought some Gourmet portobellos, instead.

That was an interesting, fun rhubarb fact! The whole plant is poisonous, except for the stalk. I cut some stalks from my garden  and made a rhubarb pie, too, with a homemade crust from a southern cook's recipe. The kids loved it.

This clip is hard to get out one's head, though...

The wife had some Strawberry Rhubarb pie for dessert the other day, I took a bite, it was delicious. Funny I've never seen it there before, yet shortly after this post it suddenly appears, must be "in season"...weird

Think the rain will ruin the rhubarb?

Not if it comes in cans...lol

by beetree on 03 June 2017 - 00:06

The rhubarb is loving the rain. I can't believe we got two days of no rain in a row! Strawberries are coming in season this month so they go well with rhubarb, visually and with taste. I will make a strawberry rhubarb pie next, if the birds don't find my strawberries before me!

Another rhubarb fact: The first plants were brought over to America by the Brits. Same with daylilies! They grow wild, everywhere in N.E.

ML, Glad to hear you and Linda are enjoying pie! Lol
