Coats still look weird, don´t they?
Otherwise I guess he lost the points during the guarding phases...
For most dogs it´s not that difficult to bite, it´s more difficult to stay focussed and in drive during "obedience" phases ( genetics versus trained behavior ).
Thinking about all those fancy "bitework clips" without out and guarding...

I haven,t seen all this exercises from this dog Susie but the guarding isn,t the best not good focus cost some points
on the stick attack he lost some points because not good grip on the first impact by the hit.

Here you can see clearly the natural guarding  , top/ smart  handlers can camouflage this by trained behaviour and conditioning, by put a ball on  a suit behind the decoy let the dog bark  and let the dog   stay focus on the ball.  etc . etc ...

I believe there's been several Valkenplatz dogs in recent years with HGH titles...

Interesting that the coats look odd to you, susie, since they've been there all along, though. There's no denying that the dog in these clips has a gorgeous, glistening, healthy-looking coat, but he still is clearly identifiable as a GSD. :)

that guarding, or better not guarding tells you all about the dog, nice sportdog

duke1965, I can't argue with that--it looked more like the dog was standing next to his handler than the decoy he was supposed to be controlling.
