Sorry I don't have any SL but wondering if you notice any physical similarities in your dogs with tighter hips such as firmer step, tighter skin, better rear muscling, etc....
I have yet to pennhip enough dogs for comparison.

No problem! I should have titled it differently.

We had one dog that we imported come back with .67 on either side, and beforehand we noticed that she was rather tired after longer walks- but no weakness to her gait. For a time we thought that physically thicker hips matched with better hip laxity and structure, but this female prooved that theory wrong.

Ambrogino and Anacapri are siblings from two A2 parents, but I've also found that structure is not always directly related to the laxity. We've had a darn near OFA excellent come back as .54, .53 .

Two of our similars are Tizi and Ena- both have very similar structure and laxity, and yet Tizi is much more cow hocked.

Some dogs with great Pennhip scores produce their hips, like Lyon has with a few of his sons (both in the .2s), and some 0.3s produce 0.5s. We will be xraying two daughters from Lyon (0.23, 0.26) and Tizi (0.35, 0.34) in about a month, so it will be interesting to see what they produce. I do think that the lineage may have a "final say" when it comes to the hips.

We are only really a year into this, so we haven't noticed any great trends. For instance, a .31 / .29 female that is OFA Fair ... it's luck of the dice, it seems.

Feel free to post some of your non-west german Shepherds. I'd love to see any results that I can.
