Sita and Vanna both passed their AKC - CGC, Mattie was too friendly with the other dog.

Next week we will try for BH.

Sita had 2 almost perfect BH practices today. One more full pattern tomorrow night and we'll be ready to go. The rest of the week, we'll just have fun walks that imcorproate the different parts of the pattern. I'm really excited about going out and doing well. I'm also looking forward to our next step in training.

This is Saturday............I hope that by next Saturday I have as much confidence!

Congrataulations. How old is Sita and how long have you been working toward this goal. Did you have experience training dogs before Sita,

Just curious as my pup is now 9 mo. old and are just now starting (other than a puppy class)

It looks like I'm going to be the weak link here.

Thanks,

Rick

Sita as about almost 17 months old. We started SchH with her about a year ago. Started to seriously train her about 3 months ago. Before that is was all fun and games at SchH.

About 3 months ago, I started 3X a day, about 20 to 30 minutes each. Half the time was obedience, and mixed fun in the middle. She really responded. About a month ago, our club's training director told asked me if I was going to enter her. I said I didn't know if she would be ready. He gave me one of his funny smiles and just said "enter her".

9 Months is a really great time to get an evaluation for SchH and to begin training......earlier is sometimes better, later is also sometimes better.......depending on the dog and your available spare time. Do not wait too long to get obedience going the bigger they get the stronger they become.

Do you live close to a SchH club?

Thank you for your response. I am starting from ground zero, so am interested in what others are doing who also are fairly new..

I just joined a club, not terrible distance, 3 hr. round trip. Also I have a friend with a complete private field set up and do tracking and a little rag work with him a couple times a week.

We're all really tired and ready for the trials to be done so we can get back to normal.
