My female GSD is 11 1/2 months old and has yet to come into heat. I know of 2 of her sisters that were in heat 2 months ago. I have always had female dogs but never one that didn't come into heat by 10 months old.

No...depending on nutrition many females have a barely detectable heat at 6-8 months of age which may be missed even by experts. .... ie male dogs are experts not humans.  If no heat by 15 months commenced worrying but I am not sure about what to worry.

If she's smaller, leaner, or fed raw as opposed to her siblings, that can do it. I've seen a few month swing between siblings kept differently and time and again, it seems to be the lean or raw fed, slower to mature types who are later starters.

Jenni78, no Raven is actually bigger than her sisters. She's not lean but she is very muscular as she runs daily.

I had 2 sisters come in heat for the first time at 15 months. It's usually 10 to 13 months for me. I'd not worry yet.

Ok, then. I don't know. :-)

I hope she is running on grass, since you say she "runs daily" and is "not lean." She is young to be running daily...not sure how long that has been going on. You make it sounds like she runs with you, like jogging, rather than running and playing with siblings as they would do naturally.
