To all you people wanting to purchase top quality Czech bloodline German Shepherds with a one year to two year warranty with all guarantees against anything with your puppie or puppies or adult dogs. Do not ever purchase any puppies or dogs from women Farm kennel in Canada they do not back up guarantee are there dogs or puppies I should know I purchased one and it has "pyometra" and she is not even a year old and she has to be spayed it and they will not give me any money back or replace her after paying $2,300 for a intact female that is able to be bred I get a puppy that on her first heat cycle she has pyometra which is a life-threatening disease so if they are selling these types of puppies and not guaranteeing their warranty then people need to know never purchase from "Wendlin Farm Kennel" in Canada they are not responsible breeders of top-quality German shepherds. They breed their females two times a year back to back and after telling them about the female puppy I purchased from them has "pyometra" they told me oh well and if you look on there Website at "wendelinfarm.com " you all can see they say they are breeders of top Czech German Shepherd dogs witch they do but when you buy one of there puppies or older dogs from them they will not guarantee your puppy and top Quality Health. Because my dog is just a year old with "pyometra" which will kill the dog if not spayed and they will not even give me a replacement as they said they would on the guarantee or any money back after paying $2,300 for a female that now has to be spayed because of "pyometra".

o.k first of all you purchased an 8 week old puppy paid $ 1800 with full registration that is correct plus you had to pay for the shipping. I do guarantee all my dogs for HD/ED up to two years of age . There can be so many things until a dog is ready to be bred and it is not my fault that she obviously has Pyometra after her heat cycle? I can hear your frustration and I told you on the phone yesterday to first treat the dog as your vet told you and then we can still talk about this. I also ask you if you did X-ray for HD/ED and you said no. All you wined about it is that you can't breed the dog and that the dog is not good to you now etc. etc. you even told me that you would put the dog down.
I don't have a bad reputation and I was open to talk to you about this, but going on a public forum to say don't buy dogs from Wendelin kennel is a bit too much don't you think?? Ask all breeder's out there what they would do? I am very open and helpful and in all those years breeding and selling puppies I did never had somebody just jumping on a public forum without first dealing a problem in a proper manner. I never even said that I won't give you an other puppy...but this is not the way to do it.

regards, Christina Kaiser Wendelinfarm

You don't need to spay your female unless you have waited to long to treat, don't want to put in the time and effort or don't have a Vet who is of any help.

With the new procedures almost all cases can be cured it could be done with the old meds but with the new ones much easier.

The only drawback is that she is young and will need to be bred on her next heat.

I know of no Breeder who guarantees against this it would be like a breeder giving you a  guarantee against your dog getting hit by a car.

The response by the breeder sure sounds like she is willing to work with you might want to open up the lines of communication better.

I am APPALLED that you would write such defaming words about such an EXCELLENT BREEDER...very unprofessional. I have not only purchased my dog from this breeder but I have referred many people to them because they are so reputable. Do you know that their reputation is considered sterling in the GSD community, among trainers and with top level competitors and breeders? Let me tell you about Wendelin Farm. My son and I purchased our pup from them but could not bring him home due to rabies laws until he was a bit older. They did EVERYTHING I requested and more...sent me videos and photos to assure me of his imprinting and handling. Everyone that meets him says his foundation is flawless. Christina spent hours upon hours discussing his care, training and bloodlines with me. Aside from the many folk I have referred, I have also met other owners of their pups at seminars and EVERYONE has been thrilled with both the breeder and their pup. They are so well balanced and handled! I was at a world competitor's workshop and met Christina there...she left early to drive 6+ hours home thru the night just to make sure she would be home in case her female delivered...even though others were still at the farm.
I am TRULY sorry over your female...but how can you possibly relate your dog's pyometra to the breeder? I quote from VetsNow: "Each time a female dog has a season (usually about twice a year) she undergoes all the hormonal changes associated with pregnancy - whether she becomes pregnant or not. The changes in the uterus that occur with each season make infection more likely with age. A very common organism called E. coli, found in your dog’s feces, usually causes the infection. We most commonly see cases of pyometra in the 4-6week period after a heat. Injections with some hormones to stop seasons or for treatment of other conditions can also increase the risk of pyometra developing." So your female's pyometra happens when the heat cycle affords a relaxed condition in which bacteria can enter...did you try to breed her? If so, did he carry bacteria? Is she kept in unclean conditions and was exposed to that e-coli when in this relaxed heat cycle stage, or did she have the bacteria already present? Understanding this, how can you possibly attack the breeder? Was it open or closed pyometra? If open, Did you take her immed. to the vet for treatment? Were you aware what was going on with your dog in a timely manner? And how could you possibly threaten to put that dog down over this? Is that all she was to you...just a breeder? Even if she had to be spayed her value as a companion, competitor, family member all remain in tact...if not to you then to another! Even professional breeders/kennels go thru these heartbreaks...c-sections/spaying at an early age. This is nature you are dealing with and nature takes its turn on even the best. You have responsibility in this too. She's already at her first heat cycle...not an 8 week old puppy...what has she been exposed to since you had her for the MAJORITY of her life. Pyometra can happen to anyone...and yes, it is always a heart break. But this is not the breeders fault...it is a bad break! The only thing worse is your attacking the character of such upstanding people. Other than crippling dysplasia hips/elbows to a certain age, the breeder owes nothing...this is your dog, your responsibility. They have NOT built their reputation by screwing others over...quite the contrary...but it speaks volumes of your character that your way of handling this is to attack such good folk on an open forum like this. And just to clarify, I have not met the breeder before obtaining my pup, I paid full price for mine and do not receive a referral fee. I simply want others to experience the joy I have.

Pyometra isn't hereditary, so it isn't the fault of the breeder that the dog got this condition.

It's caused by bacteria entering the uterus during heat when the passage way to the uterus is open.

It can be caused by polluted water, feces or decomposing matter. Is your dog excessively crated and soiling herself or swimming in open water?

Just as Reliya says, NOBODY can give a guarantee against a bitch they sold getting a pyo some time down the line. Could your mother guarantee to anyone when you were born that by age 10 you would never have had a head-cold or measels ? FFS, get real. If you are going to buy and keep living animals, at least have the nous to find out a bit about their metabolism and the medical conditions and diseases they can get !

I don't know a thing about this breeder, but I do think you should hesitate before you blast anyone as a scammer all over the internet for something that is clearly no fault of hers. Rant over.

I also don't know anything about the breeder, but the fact that she's willing to give a replacement puppy says she's at least a decent human being. There's so many people who just sell a puppy as a possible breed prospect that know puppies are a "crap shoot" and put it in their contact that "at the time of sell" the puppy seems like a good breeding prospect, but they don't promise that the dog will actually be breedable (or worse, cut off contact completely).

In fact, I read a contact that actually stated that they promise nothing in the way of breedability except for two descended testicles in males because anything can happen. These aren't machines, but living and complex beings.

Wendelin is an excellent breeder, and one of few breeders I would buy a pup from sight unseen. I have personally seen and trained Wendelin pups/dogs and have always been impressed.

I have spent many hours on the phone talking to Christina about her dogs and their bloodlines. She has always been very patient and helpful to answer my questions. She never tried to push a sale on me, and I was left with the impression that I can call her anytime and ask more questions. Christina also gave me referrals of folks who bought pups from her. One gentleman in NY has a solid black Navar H Pramen son from her, and all he does is talk about that dog. I am planning to meet that dog soon as I heard he has the behavior of his father Navar ( serious ass GSD ).
Christina does not deserve this public beat down. And Christina if you are reading this..this is Mike from NYC and Anthony from  Yonkers have that Ginger brother. He said that dog he got from you  is one serious ass GSD.

I have dealt with Christina for over 5 years now and have sent her many referrals and will continue to do so. Without going into detail my experience has been that she is an honest and considerate person. Her values as a breeder are very high.

Pyometra is an acquired infection, is detectable at it's early stages and can be treated. It has nothing to do with the health of a puppy when sold. If this infection has advanced to the stage you claim it is at then maybe you should consider your part of the responsibility in this matter.
