Navigating AKC pedigree to find pups for sale - Page 1

Does anybody know an easier way to navigate the AKC pedigree database to find specific puppies for sale within specific family lines? I understand puppies for sale give the lineage but I have to check every single puppies lineages 3 to 4 generation back to find out if they fall within the family group I am looking for…Its becoming quite daunting and was hoping someone would know of an easier way to find a pup within the family group I am looking for utilizing the pedigree database? Any help or tips with this is much appreciate.

What line are you looking for? There is a good chance someone on here has connections that could help.

I assume you've already checked to see if the dogs you are interested in are entered in the database?
That would be the logical starting point.

You can select the 'reverse linebreeding' option to see if the families you want have descendants listed on the database.

I am looking for puppies from Spirit’s Shiloh and Baron Von Hooligan. I see they have two dogs registered under their name. My recently deceased dog, Dillion Von Hooligan who I never bred and his litter mate Henry’s Maximillian. Henry has a long list of progeny, possibly great grandson’s and great granddaughter’s at this point. It would seem that someone would possess a litter from this family line but I just can’t seem to locate one?

A good starting place would be to contact the person who seems to have entered all the dogs that you mention into the database...

There is also a big "seller" of high priced adults somewhere in NC with a website..similar name.  No idea if its the same people, but certainly worth sending an email to them to ask if they ever owned any of those dogs you seek.

Where did you get your dog??

Was it a breeder, or just people who had a litter??

 

Another thing you can try is to look up all the littermates to your dog, by AKC number, and then search each name you get on google..

Also try researching OFFA to see if any have been health screened.. sometimes that yields a lead to finding the next generation of dog(s) from the lines you seek.
