I want to play with my 8 month old puppy.  I've seen many people use  a rag or tug on a rope.
What type of rag or tug do you tie to the end of the rope?
French linen, jute, leather?

my 18 week old puppy loves the stuffing free squirrel I tied on the end of the rope.  My 10 year australian shepherd who was so neurotic by the time I got her at 1 year, and has never played with toys, also loves it. Lordy I had no clue she could run that fast!  lol   It is really cute to see how they are different.  The aussie tries to shake it to death.  My gsd pins it with her big paw and tries to pull it apart, or just keeps it pinned while eyeing my other dog.  then they play tug of war with it.

also, my gsd gets very intense when going after my push broom.  I don't know if that would count as a prey drive toy, but she sure seems to be in over drive when she is going after it.

We bought a "flirtpole" for our new pup... looks kind of like a buggiewhip with a heavy cord on it and a sheepskin patch on the end. The patch has a squeaker in it.  The pup obviously LOVES it... but what's surprised me is that my older 6 year old WGS who is hesitant to play loves it also.  Great play for either indoors (watch out for the lamps) or out in the yard.

I bought a lunge pole and was wondering what type of "rag" people tie to the end of it.  My pup plays rough and tears up
any soft toys so anything fleece won't last long.  I've noticed the dog bite rags come in jute, linen, a  leather and was wondering which would last longer and not get her teeth stuck in it.

I like burlap on my drop lash whip, not to keen on any thing with a squeker as it could very easily promote chewing on the toy and sleeve.
