Having Trouble Adding Parents of a Dog - Page 1

I add the correct parents but it does not accept them--add them.

It would help the admins if you'd at least give the dog's information...

What message do you get as to why it won't let you add them?

What is your dogs name

Are the parents in the data base, if not you will need to add them first. 

I am working on a number of dogs, having downloaded AKC Research Pedigrees. Some work...others I add and it changes nothing, even when I have the editing privileges for the dog and the dogs I am trying to add are already in the database. For example: I am trying to add the parents of:

CH Sutana's Yogi Bearra Of Jada
DL828897/03 08-03
Black & Tan
OFA26G AKC DNA #V151359

The Sire is:
CH Bravo Von Bleibtreu
DL673347/02 07-98
Black & Tan
OFA34F AKC DNA #V38743

The Dam is:
CH Bear Hug Of Jada Edan
DL549976/01 12-98
Black & Tan

That is what shows up when I bring up Sutana's name

Since this is not your first time adding maybe you forgot to refresh or leave enough time after you made the change before you refreshed.

Yes, you must remember to refresh the page after adding a dog, or it won't show up! Found that out waaay back when I first joined this site back in 2007, under my regular posting ID!

Also in addition to having the dogs reg number , you should always add the date of birth as it many times help people find the right dogs for their pedigree. If unsure of the date, you can pull up the dogs information on the AKC online site https://www.apps.akc.org/ using either the name or the reg number. His DOB is DEC-27-1999

I see that you have added many many dogs.  Just a name is not always that useful,  please add the reg number and DOB when possible... or look it up on the AKC site.  Also please check the spelling of the name.  I have corrected several of them already today. 

Should you have permission from the dogs owner prior to adding them into the database? (My dogs dam is in the database, his sire is not BUT the sire's sire and dam ARE in the database)

You don't need permission but please add as much information that is asked for as you can.
