I do know that even if you are an SV member but do not live in Germany you cannot submit directly to the SV and must go through either the USCA or GSDCA.
Just interested in comparing what we pay through the USCA or GSDCA as compared to what you pay when going through the SV directly.

Guess it´s still the same.

Are you surprised? Why?
The Martin brothers created a very commercial enterprise to export large quantities of GSDs and subsequently control those exports and their descendents. It took either 25 or 30 years b4 we were "allowed" a homebred VA in this country and even then of course it was a F1 generation from two imports. Many supposedly US VA dogs are still imports. Note I say supposedly VA since most of these dogs were at best middle V dogs in Germany.
The opportune word here is commercial.
You can enjoy the system you are competing in but It's always a good idea to have a clear vision of what it actually is.

Meant operative word not opportune though that also fits in a way.
Rereading my post I thought oh gads you have gotten mightily cynical in your old age. It was meant more as pragmatism than cynicism.

Only for the record - during the presidency of Funk and Rummel a lot of high rated German dogs were sold to the States - in a couple of years the Martin brothers will be guilty for air contamination and tree death.
I understand what you are trying to say, but I really don´t like the part "... b4 we were allowed...".
Your own landsmen import(ed) the "winners" for decades now, instead of breeding, raising, training, titling their own stock.
You / the Americans are buying their own enemies, and you are ( and never were ) forced to do so...
A lot of people want to own "winners", but they don´t want to do the work, they don´t want to raise, train, title, and they don´t want to spend time and money for a puppy that doesn´t pass the HD/ED test later on, that maybe fails in protection, or misses a tooth. They want the glamor, but not the work.
Even genetically these imports are more or less useless, because even good puppies out of these dogs tend to vanish as soon as they hit the 2 years mark = no titled offspring = the next titled import.
It´s a circle, and there is no beginning, and there is no end.
