Are dog sports still banned by the AKC? I know that the GSDCA has officially brought IPO back under its belt and that the AKC will add IPO titles that are earned under the GSDCA on the dogs registry. But has AKC actually outright stated they accept/support "biting"/utility dog sports?

Although bitework sports are not specifically mentioned in the FCI/AKC Cooperation Document, I believe that in order to recognize pedigrees issued by the various countries studbooks, the AKC must accept bitework sports administratively.

So, the AKC doesn't have to offer bitework related trials themselves, but they also can't ignore the existence of such sports any longer. Per the FCI/AKC Cooperation Document, AKC Dogs are eligable to earn FCI International Champion, but that requires a working title for many breeds/groups.

The AKC officially accepted biting sports a number of years ago when they created the working dog sport title http://www.akc.org/press-center/press-releases/akc-approves-working-dog-sport/
I do not believe they still award the WDS instead they went to the program of showing working dog titles earned thru other organizations on their pedigrees if a requiste payment was made..Do they make money and don't have to get their hands dirty by actually participating.
If I'm incorrect and they still award the WDS please correct me - perhaps someone could call AKC for clarification,
