I think they mean pictures from different angles, showing the body. The above is not a great example picture.

OP I thought you were in contact with someone who
deliberately breeds for coaties ? Can't you borrow an
adult from that breeder ?

Seriously, am I getting a 'buyer's regret' feel from this
thred, you had WANTED Chase to be a longcoat, and
you are now less than happy he isn't turning out to be
one ? Honestly, I would not worry about that ! If he
grows up with a really 'plush' coat, it will be quite enough
trouble to keep knot-free; even langstockhaar dogs - let
alone those really LONG coated GSDs outside the Standard -
are hard work to have them clean and shiny and healthy-look
-ing ALL the time. Like I said, got the T shirt. The pack I
used to work with were 40% longer coated dogs. Give me a
nice stock coat specimen any time, from that point of reckoning !

Hundmutter, no I don't want Chase long haired and I'm just trying prove to other people that he is not a long haired. Long hairs don't look like German Shepherds to me even ones with undercoats and are shorter. And Chase's coat looks just like his dad's my breeder that I got Chase from aaid Chase looks exactly like his dad they wouldn't say that if he was a long haired. And I am but I have no clue where she lives and I'm not flying/driving to get a long haired I may check a rescue shelter for one. I hate people calling Chase long haired cause I feel like a broken record have to explain that he is a German show line and has a thicker coat. I will be so happy when Chase is full grown and all his adult fur is in so I can show the people who think he is a long haired. And say see Chase is just a thick coated short hair not a long haired. ..........I'll still miss the baby puppy tho Cry SmileRegular Smile

Chasepuppy, it would be easier to for the experts to tell if you posted pictures of Chase in his natural coat like on the other forums where you were advised by many that he was a longcoat, not the ones where you have trimmed all his hair off.

Hundmutter, it is buyer's regret, she was sold a coatie while being told her puppy would have a coat like its sire.

Falkosmom, his hair has never been cut the only thing that has ever touched his fur is a brush. And my breeder said Chase looks exactly like his dad. They would not say that if he was a long haired. And I have seen pics of Sam as a puppy Chase does look exactly like him including the same ear tuffs as a puppy and then gone later as he grew. Chase looks just like his dad who is just a thick coated stock coat. I do not regret buying my dog. He is my Chase puppy always will be.

What is your issue with long coats? Mine are both long coats and people have no issue recognizing them as 'real' German Shepherds. Also one of mine is a German Show Line and guess what he's a long coat. He's still a German Show line. No idea where you're getting at with this.
