My Taz was like that about the ball, right up till he was
around 11, then he slowed down and gradually lost
interest a bit (though eighteen months later he was
still playing 'fetch' for a few minutes the day before he
died). The sheer determination they show while
searching all the brush and nettles 'n' stuff, cos they
aren't prepared to let that ball outta sight for too long
is great, isn't it ?

Dogs love it ,I love it and it's great bonding exercise :-)
I know what you mean about your old one. My female who'll be 12 in April is nuts for retrieving, ( not the kind that constantly tries to initiate fetch) she still has great hunt drive and will play till she drops if I allow it.
