I would like to know what these would score on A-Stamp.
I used Digimizer program to find out the Norberg angles.
The measurements I obtained (Norberg Angle) for Dog's Left hip was 105.73 degrees and the Dog's Right Hip was 98.07 Degrees.
I also need to know whether or not to have these retaken for better positioning.

Sorry for all the questions BUT these x-ray's and the score that goes along with them will stay with this dog for the rest of it's life. Pretty important if you want to breed this dog, if not, I think these will be OK for lighter duty jobs. Would not let this dog do high jumps, High A-frames, etc. Plenty of swimming, walking on sandy soils, grass, not hard road work. JMHO but would tend to want to preserve as long as possible.
BOL Nan
PS: can you let us know what the results are though, very curious. If you do re-x-ray; please post x-rays. Thx so much Nan

Nans GSD,
Not under sedation.
What do you think they will score?
So you are saying I should have them retaken?
If so, why?
Thanks!

Doesn't the SV require that the dog is sedated?

Why would the dog need to be sedated?

When a dog is sedated to the point of relaxation for hip xrays it gives a truer picture of hip laxity and the positioning is usually better. OFA recommends it, SV requires it now. If you have an application from the SV it might state that and I'm guessing the vet who took the xray will need to attest to the fact that the dog was sedated.
It can make a difference between a pass and a fail, Truthseeker, I've seen it. I have always sedated my dogs for their OFA hip xrays since I want the true picture of that dog's hip status and not just a clearance number. IMO the SV has this right, but I wish they would up the age to 24 months.
