That's pretty twisted, but that's what they mean when they say, "The South will rise again!". It's that second Amendment remedy the politicians speak of, so can you blame their constituents when they "carry out the mission"? They stir this shit up and it comes to fruition in the way of innocent lives, yell that he's not every Christian white man and then ask for every Muslim to be deported when one of them goes nuts. Can you say hypocrisy?

I saw an article that someone posted on FB, bitching that the Empire State Building was lit up for Eid, the end of Ramadan and they felt that this represents Obama supporting terrorism. They just can't fathom the simple difference between public and private and for some reason, they think President Obama is personally guiding every flag and symbol that is offensive to Christians. But then, try to turn around and tell them that secularism is the only thing between all of us and Islam, and they'll cry that you're persecuting THEM! You actually have to shake your head a few times for it to sink in that these people believe this shit! It is pure insanity, they're being spoon-fed bullshit and the more outrageous the tidbit, the more they believe it! So, just remember, if you find anything offensive about Christian symbols on public property and in public schools, you're persecuting Christians, but if any other religion is represented on PRIVATE PROPERTY, they must be deported and shamed into the shadows. That's how these morons actually think! Wipe out anything that isn't us! What a peaceful Christian message they bring to the world, eh?

So it would naturally follow that this man really wasn't doing this out of the fear of losing status at white, Christian, conservative and privileged man, because that's not how "real Christians act", he was a fake. Then try to explain to them that Islam also has its fundamentalists and it's straight to denial mode, they're ALL terrorists, because Islam is not a religion of peace!! Oh geez, it makes me dizzy sometimes, that's all I can say.

This will not be the end all, this is only just beginning. So, don't go to movies, restaurants, school or the mall because some white moron who thinks they should be the only race may just kill you, a white person. These 2 ladies were white, WTF? When there is one of these terror attacks it always seems to be either a white power conservative freak or some religious nut. What we really need is more guns, guns are the solution to everything and we all know more is better, right?

The POTUS has just been over here saying how much he regrets not having
been able to achieve more on gun control. Points out that the reforms that
were blocked would just have been 'sensible' measures.
Wonder why he is the only Pres. of the 8 I have seen in my lifetime who I look
at the eyes of and feel I would like and trust ?

I don't know that I would trust any politician, but I do think he did his best with what he had in some areas, considering the opposition he's had to deal with. In other things, I've totally disagreed with him, but I don't paint everything he does with a wide brush, I look independently at the issue at hand. I have a foot on both sides of the fence on the gun debate, but I do agree there should be limits, overall.

The lack of mental health care in this country is the main problem. ALL of these whackos who've done mass murders have been certifiably crazy. If they don't have a gun, they drive their car into a crowd of people and commit murder and mayhem.
Or they stab their victems to shreds.Like the two crazy brothers in OK.

Do google for knife stabbings....knives are as big a problem as guns when it comes to crazy people who decide to murder.

You are right but guns kill many quickly. Knives kill people so do hands but those deaths take hand to hand actions, guns kill from distance and have the potential to be very deadly with multiple victims.

That's why mentally ill people should not be sold guns. They should be given care, not a bunch of pills.

Well we can care for people with schizophrenia and such all we want. But that isn't going to control it. Sometimes drugs are the only option. I worked for a state hospital for a few years and there were certain people you did not turn your back on. We generally might have 3 staff for every seriously mentally ill person. I don't think you realize the delusions and paranoia present in a lot of these people. Do we prescribe to many meds, yes, probably but there are seriously mentally ill that need those meds.

And how is a store employee to asses a customer? We sell to many guns and it will become apparent in the coming years, that you can take to the bank. Unfortunately, it is going to take a super mass killing for most people to get it, ask Australians.

by joanro on 26 July 2015 - 02:07

I'm not saying people with severe mental illness don't need meds. The patients you are talking of are hospitalized or institutionalized. There's many people who get drugs and that's the extent event though they should probly not be in society. Seems like if any real background check was done on this guy he would not have gotten the pass for gun purchase. So, yes, too many guns are sold to crazy people who shouldn't have them.

The guy who did the shooting yesterday had a record of hospitalization because of mental illness....store clerck isn't the one to evaluate a customer, the FBI supposedly does a check for such records. They also dropped the ball on the gun sale to the church killer. If the research is not complete, the sale should not take place.
