My dog has been house trained since 9 weeks, he is now 8 1/2 years old and has NEVER had an accident in my house, ever. I was doing laundry earlier and was sorting clothes in the basement and he followed my down. As he was walking across the basement floor, he just started peeing! He didn't lift his leg or squat, he peed as he walked. He had been out within the hour and hadn't "asked" to go out again, so I was baffled, but chalked up to... I don't know??
Well, just now, I was folding laundry in the living room and he came out of his crate and did the same thing! There was a line of pee all around the room! I immediately put him out, cleaned it up with OdoBan and let him back in.
Could this be a bladder infection? Could it be something more serious? I cannot afford a vet visit right now, I'm upside down financially! Is there any way to treat an infection without going to the vet? I feel horrible, he's been a perfectly healthy dog up to this point and his timing couldn't be worse! Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated!
I will be letting him out every 30 minutes or so, just in case, but I need to find out what I'm up against!
Forgot to add, though I'm not sure it matters, he is not neutered.

For sure i woul take him to the vet for a UTI check could be a bladder infection, crystals or even stones.
Hopefully a little medication will make him feel better and you can clean up a lot less.

I can't take him to the vet, they don't work for free and I have NO money, zip, zilch, nada. That's why I'm asking for advice here.

The other possibility, your boy might have prostatitis. The dog I had with that had difficulty voiding and would pee blood and cry when taking a dump. He had to be castrated to cure him.
I don't see how you are going to get out of taking him to a vet...the longer you wait, the worse he could get.

Problem is Joan, I seriously cannot take him to the vet, I really have no money, literally. I wouldn't even be able to afford to put him down if need be right now. It sucks being poor. My situation is not the best, but at least I had a healthy dog. I painted a porch for $50 last week to buy his food, that's how bad things are right now. This couldn't have happened at a worse time.

He seems comfortable, no discomfort that I can detect. I will keep a close eye on him, let him out frequently and contact someone locally who may be able to help, if need be. Thank you for the advice and the PMs, I'll let you know and keep you posted on what's happening.

Travels, I have a CareCredit account you could use if there's enough left on it.
I'd be concerned with prostate issues or advanced UTI, in that order. Next concern would be something spinal and he's not realizing he's voiding his bladder.

Thank you for your kind offer Jenni, I appreciate it. Right now, he's comfortable and I'm keeping a close eye on him. I've offered to let him out numerous times and he didn't want to go, so I'll see how it goes from here.
