I am so proud of my boy Bear, now being called Easy by the NYS Police k9 unit.

Last month I got a call to ask if I could take back one of my pups, and of course I said I would.

I wanted to cry for him when they walked him up my driveway. Both eyes totally bald and rubbed raw from trying to escape his crate. His rear end rubbed bald too, looked like flea itching, At least 20 lbs underweight,  according to my standards anyway.

He came in, welcomed by the rest of my pack. Almost seems as though they know he is one of us.

As the weeks go by, just about a month, all his hair grew back, i treated bald spots with NuStock , put a tube of AdvantX 2 on him and began pumping him full of good food. Lots and lots of exercise.personalfamily dog

ter about 2 weeks, I could see he was literally turning into a power house of dog. Where at first he backed away from men that approached him, he became so much more confident and full of his self.

I wasn t quite sure what I was going to do with him. I already have 4 adult male dogs. He needed his own person, but I couldn t make another poor decision for him.

I sent a video of him to my friend Chris Nolan, who just so happens to co ordinate NY Police k9 program and has 2 of my dogs already. One his partner Reddy, and one his personal family dog, that he competes with.

Yesterday they came, Chris and the trainer to access him. As you see, they loved him. Trainer told me no doubt, he got what it takes.

Hi ho, hi ho, off together they go. Chris called me from state police training field yesterday afternoon, where he told me they deceided to rename him Easy...he was already on the training field, doing great.

Will he make it for the long haul, only time will tell, but he s off to a rip roaring start.

Again, I wanted to cry for my dog, tears of joy, for him.

AND, after checking out ALL my dogs, it s deceided I WILL provide more dogs for the NYS police k9 unit. I was so proud of my dogs and don t mind saying, i was over joyed when i was told that my dogs look in excellent condition, sound in body and mind, AND that the way I raise my pups and keep my dogs is exactly why they have the temperaments that THEY are looking for in THEIR dogs.

and yes, as a small breeder that marches to a different beat than so many others, THAT MADE MY DAY !!!

I absolutely love the fact that someone brought this dog back...and it turns out that he's a good looking...good working dog that will have a good job to do...I think it's a feather in your cap as a breeder/trainer of German Shepherds...

Good going...

Well I got my first update on my boy today and could not be more proud.

The love him, said he is exceptional  and they could not be happier with him and his progress already.

Chris promised some training pics soon. It truly is a great feeling to have him returned only to move up to a wonderful place in his life.

Thanks to you well wishers, i appreciate the kind words and encouragement.

Need much more to make a person feel good.

Talk about the resilience of the breed....this is what Bear looked like when he was returned to me.

Broke my heart...one month later, he shook the crap off, and....
