Hello, I would return for help in a matter related to reading the pedigrees, in Becky pedigree (http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=2357199-bruxa-quinta-do-salomo) a few dogs with red letters before the name, eg V Eick von der Berger Hochburg, what do you mean the V? Or for example Velmi DOBRY - 5VQ1 / P Piko Bret Bett (Rudi), whatever all this mean?
Sorry if I'm being ignorant... I am totally novice in these wanderings...
Thank you very much

V is a German show title. It stands for "vorzuglich", or excellent, and is the highest SV show rating you will probably see on a workingline these days, as VA is reserved for the absolute "top" show dogs. Note quotations around "top". It can also be noted that a V rating can only be obtained by an already working titled dog.
This site has a good Glossary for titles and such. http://www.lakenshepherds.com/definitions-of-titles-in-a-pedigree.html
Velmi Dobry is, I *believe* the Czech version of a V rating, (I think Vyborny is the higher one?) but somone correct me if I'm wrong on that! I don't know much about the Czech dogs.
