Lets say you have a male American gsd, and a female one.
Male is called A, and female is called B
A & B breed. After 5 generations one of the male pups is mated to a female german showline, from 4 generations.
Will the pup from those 2 look more American, or German. Also could someone put a picture on here, of what it will look like.
Any colour of the dog will do.

I think your question is very difficult to answer. However, after 5 generations, I can be pretty sure that the dogs will look more ike their parents than their ancestors 5 generations back!

If you care to do research, he has many AKC Champions from these crosses. also his kennel name appears in some of the pillars of the breed concerning Am. Show lines.
He is an AC judge, attends the German Siege show for 42 straight years and is the only truly successful person in the world (to this point) to cross these line and actually contribute to the Am. S/L
During a trip to Germany last year, he told me that he no longer attempts to cross lines (Am. S/L German S/L).
He said he realized it was hopeless during his last effort. After 5 generations, he looks in his yard and there still stands Lance of Fran Jo.
His advice to me was, if you want American type, go to Germany and choose it. Which he does many times a year.
An example of one of his latest for those who desire/recognize Am. S/L type.

Myself, I decided to take his advice.

I have attended several SV type shows in the U.S. since and did not see that.
I am new to German S/L and yes I did see some roaches, but not in the top winning dogs. So what am I missing.
Do you attend these shows to see this and I miss it. Or you just another very ignorant person, pulling opinions from their ass because they have no experience.
SunSilver, I apologize. I am New, Kind and Gentle Rik for a whole day, I vow never again to say harsh things on this board. I fail in less than 24 hours.
But faced with such utter stupidity as Xeph I must now go back to confession, burn more candles ask for more forgiveness.

I make the statement that Bill Leonard advises to go to Germany and choose Am. S/L type, if that is where ones interest lies.
I am willing to bet that his breeding lies behind the dog you own and seem so proud of. And, by the way, will never complete an AKC championship.
You retort with this comment:
"The problem with going to Germany and selecting for American style, is that there's generally no hiding that roach. If it's not there in a stack, it is in motion...and that's not pretty in ANY line."
Not only do you make this comment from never having gone to Germany, you and SunSilver are apparently so incredidbly stupid, or lazy, that you do not even visit Estahaus web site to view the many videos he post of Am. Type/ German S/L dogs he brings from Germany.
Please point out these "roach back" dogs that he chooses from Germany to me.
When confronted with incredible stupidity, I tend to act incredibly stupid.

SunSilver, I'm sure your dog is a nice pet, but by no stretch, of any standard in any civilized nation is your dog a S/L
Not American, not German. It is a pet as are 90+% of all "show dog breeding's" any breed, any country.
Why you would point to such a complete POS "anatomy wise" to prop up Xeph and compare to dogs such as Vegas, Ilbo, Dexter, Idol, Hoss, I can not fathom.
When confronted with incredible stupidity, I tend to act incredibly stupid.
