Good evening.

Well, i'm recently dog lover, i have a puppy German Shepherd of 4 months of life.

I changed the food supermarket to another premium one month ago. And two weeks ago he dropped an ear, I started giving calcium pills but nothing yet. Is this normal or should I do ?

 Thanks!.

chewing on chewable bones will strengthen ears.

ears can go up & down & up and down.....until after 12mo.

if they were up once and the dog didn't get injured they will come up again.

My dog had wonky up and down floppy ears until 4.5 5 months. Don't worry they will come up! Ask your dog crazy silly questions, lots of different sounds and you are guaranteed fun filled head tilts and ear erection excercises that will get those ears up and alert! Either way who cares if the ears go up or not? Unless your all about vain dog shows! Good luck enjoy your pup time.

Stop with the calcium supplement--you will do FAR more harm than good....there is a delicate balance necessary between calcium intake and phosphorus intake, and supplementing with calcium upsets that balance, and can actually weaken the pup's bones instead of strengthening them. It is not unusual for a GSD pup's ears to change when they're teething, and as vk4gsd has suggested, giving him nice, meaty bones to chew on [large enough that he can't swallow them, and raw, not cooked] it will help strengthen the musculature of the skull and assist the pup in keeping them standing.

ha, the suggestion above about asking yr dog weird questions gave me the idea that will prolly work. i use a certain wind  device that calles in foxes and wild dogs while out hunting. you can buy similar device in US to call in whatever animals they hunt there.

it works a treat, the noise gets a dog's attention like nothing else, i play mean tricks on my dogs all the time with it, even my full drop eared hounds ears do their best to erect.
