LOL; I have a nearly 6yr old here who has never played with other dogs. Gets along with them just fine, just never cared to play. All of a sudden, she's rolling around the yard, tongue lolling around, just as goofy as the others. He looks good for his age, Duke. Kudos.

he made best friends with the portugese waterdog pup from my wife, they both live in the house and like each other a lot

Isn't that the best feeling to watch the friendship of your older GSD and a small breed dog playing?

I too have my girl, MYA, (GSD)  she is pushing 9 and plays like crazy with my male Pug and young  GSD also!

We must be doing something right and they just FEEL GOOD!

LOVE IT!

duke, he probably looks at the Portie and thinks, "if he can walk around wearing that silly-looking costume, my playing with him won't make me look sillier than that!'

Or it could be just like it is with our species...once we get to a certain age, we stop giving a damn about 'acting dignified' and decide we're going to just enjoy the rest of our time!

He does look good, would never have guessed him to be 11!

thanks, he does look good for his age, I have dogs here half his age that look older Wink Smile

I'll have to try and get pics of my 13 year old playing with my pup!

I thought I was going to lose him at Christmas, but he's doing great! Has trouble with the stairs now and then, but other than that, he's fine!

Pack photo...that's him closest to the camera. Hardly any grey on his muzzle!
