Bundishep, she didn't say she regrets the breeding...in fact, she flatly stated she'd do it again, it just caught her by surprise that doing a line breeding on Ahron brought UAP in 1 out of 4 pups.  I'd be crushed, and looking to figure out why I got something that hadn't been previously seen in the lines I was intimately familiar with for my lifetime, were I in EB's shoes right now.

Ahron was born in 95, at this time no one have cared about ellbows.if the dog was not limping it was fine with the owner. in 1.12004 the sv have make it mandatory that every dog born from this date must get x rayed in the front. to this point there is no proof or any kind of record who was producer for ellbow problems.after the changes it have go the same way like it did with the hips, if it was looking bad on film you did not send it in.

so every speculation is a waste of time.

Agree. I said as much on page one.

For what it's worth. It's not the A pup that has ED. it's one of the B pups. 3 out of four are clear according to the prelims.

As for the rest, yes it's all speculations. Everything is speculations, eye problems, testicles, teeth, hips, elbows... when it comes down to it, you can call it all speculation. But then again, this forum would be absolutely obsolete because all we do, day in and out is speculating.

Anytime someone tells you "This is what I found, it's speculation. I will take what I have found and will document it and apply it to future breedings.

And yes, I would do the breeding again, in a heartbeat. We got wonderful temperaments, super drives, fun dogs all around. The next breeding will most likely be an outcross to either DDR (a Vielhauer dog sired by Durbas) or a Showline if I can find a good one. I've bought a Wotan Great Granddaughter and I'm looking for an older female that has either Orly or Olko so I get my hands on more Betzi.

There is also a Staatsmacht dog out here that's interesting but he's a coatie and the combination would bring way too much Fero for my taste.

Either way. So far I'm very pleased with what I got.

Baerenfangs, thanks for sharing the info.  When breeders share information both good AND BAD amongest themselves on actual experiences they had, I believe it is very valuable. We must realize that not all breeders have everything they experienced documented or wrote a book about and even if they did, it coudl stilll be questioned.  Just getting the info out there is enough to make other breeders aware of the possibilities. Of course we must all consider the source and their experience and knowledge. JMO
