Kalibeck

by Kalibeck on 16 January 2015 - 20:01

The last update I've seen is that rescue is pending....I hope so. But as usual Hexe has articulated my concerns perfectly. No dog can be handled that way & evaluated fairly. And if she doesn't look like a 'working lines GSD' to these people.....how can she get a fair deal?

If she's truly got issues, that's one thing; but she deserves a fair chance.

Thanks, jackie harris

The last update is that she's leaving Tuesday. Let's just hope she doesn't bite anyone in the meantime...!

Will keep fingers crossed...Monday is a municipal holiday in most areas, so that works in her favor; all they have to do is keep her fed and watered, keep her kennel clean, and not handle her, and she can get sprung to safely on Tuesday.

Negative energy, be gone--you have no power here! Only positive, optimistic vibes for the young GSD girl. Rose

If people can't handle being bitten here and there, perhaps another occupation is in order? Thinking

I wouldn't go quite that far, Jenni...but I would say that people who are fearful around a dog they think might bite are NOT the best people to evaluate a dog's temperament, and should recognize this fact and not label the dog as unadoptable.

I mean, I can handle being bitten [or, in the case of cats, clawed & ripped open] but that doesn't mean I LIKE it. Wink Smile  It never ruined my week when I worked at the practice if no dogs or cats took a piece out of me come Saturday afternoon...

What a shame, for yet another dog.

There comes a time when, as a breeder, or in lots of instances, GREEDERS, you must turn people away who come for puppies. At least be honest about the pups you are breeding. AND...

If you are not willing to take back a dog you bred, you should not be breeding.

Sometimes, just as with people, personalities clash. Take the damn dog back....

You made a bad judgement call...buyer actually does suck, take your damn dog back!!!!

I just bought a 6 month old female. Let me say this, NEVER AGAIN. It ain't the dogs fault the breeder BS'd me how good this dog is.

She's one of them dogs I have read about here, far to many times. Aside from my wanting to cry everyday that I got her, shes a very nice dog.lol

I've been told, tie her outside, put her in a kennel, yadda, yadda, yadda

Exactly WHAT does that do to fix the problem? If this dog was not here, i could almost guarantee she would be at the dog pound. She has a rather nice pedigree, but truth be told, the average pet person hasn't a clue what is a nice pedigree.

It really is so important to buy from an honest breeder. Someone that not only knows their dogs, but cares about them, spends time with them, really...you got to love them, AND care about THEM, after the money has been spent.

I have a little 10 week old pup now that i have rejected more than one home for. I can only describe her as 'HELL on WHEELS'....in the wrong hands, she will either end up in the dog pound, or back here. She is very intelligent. More so than the buyers that want just a pretty dog.

Well Jackie, I'm glad this girl had you looking out....far too many have no one.

NOT EVEN THOSE THAT BROUGHT HER TO THIS POINT....PATHETIC PEOPLE. Breeder +Buyer

If you can't handle the possibility that you may be bitten on occasion, you don't belong in an occupation where you must evaluate dogs. You cannot fairly assess a dog that you don't have the guts to assess in a normal situation, not attached to a catch pole, etc. I didn't say anywhere "people who work in animal control should enjoy being mauled." I said if you can't handle being bitten "here and there" another occupation is in order. If you can't handle a child having a tantrum, perhaps daycare administrator isn't your calling, either. The dog should not suffer because no one is brave enough to see what she is like. The ignorance of animal control and rescuers lately is mind-boggling to me, from breed identification to reading behavior. They may mean well, but ignorance kills. I hope this girl isn't a victim of their ignorance.

I am not saying she's sound or adoptable- she may be a total p.o.s. but she deserves to be fairly assessed by someone not afraid to do it properly. That's all I'm saying.

Well, I hope someone is close enough to save her!

She looks almost exactly like my DDR CZECH female!  Looks like a puregred to me

She must have a sad story and needs an angel to save her!
