I've had a training lead for 8 years and I lost it last week. As I was putting Drake in the passenger side, I saw it laying there and forgot to pick it up once I had him buckled in. I'm pretty upset, it was the best piece of dog equipmemt I ever owned. I think it was made of tire rubber, nice and sleek, thin, strong, never kinked or knotted, never caught on things, smallish brass clip that still worked like new. I loved that line and I'd love to find another. Does anybody know what I'm taling about and do you know where to find one? I think mine was a 15', but I'd take longer.

Travels,
A friend of mine has started a dog equipment company. She can make a biothane lead for you in any size and color. I've seen some of her work at the club and she does a really nice job. I can give you her contact info. in a PM if your interested. I would list her info here, but I'm not sure if she's ready for the potential impact of full internet business possibilities yet.

I have two longer ASAT/biothane lines. I have an 8' (bought a 15' and cut it down a bit) I believe is from Hallmark K9 that is 3/8". This is my obedience line and sometimes I use it for conformation. Simple, thin, strong, feels a bit stiffer than some ASAT I've used but has never cracked. Has a small brass snap, no handle (actually I think it came with a handle but I pulled the stitchs out). I also have the 33' tracking line from EliteK9, I think this one is 1/2" or 5/8". It is slightly wider than the first line but also thicker. This one feels more "rubbery", a bit softer, but it's a heavier line.

Thank you for the replies, it's biothane! Now that I know what it's called, I'll be able to find what I need.

I purchased a roll of mountain climbing webbing about an 1" wide and the clips I wanted to use. Cut it to the lengths I wanted and took it to a shoeshop. Its about $0.40 a foot, weatherproof and easy on the hands.
