Kim had to rush her female Rayne to the vet late Saturday night. Rayne bloated. THANK GOD Kim caught it fast and the ER vet clinic was able to do the surgery and Rayne will be OK. Rayne was nursing a litter of 1 week old Rookie grand-pups at the time she bloated!

Here is the link to the fundme account... Anything will help!

Thanks everyone.. it's been a rough couple of days.. have never had a dog bloat before but knew right away what it was. I reacted quick and the closest emergency vet is an hour and a half away.. Rayne had added difficulties because she had a 1 week old litter. So at first the Vets were trying to treat her so her milk would stay good for the pups, that didn't turn out as we had hoped but the surgery went well.. it was almost 2 am when I finally got her into the Vet and by the time they did all the pre op and xrays and labs it was close to 430 before they started her surgery. They did tap her abdomen and release some pressure once they got pain meds on board. The xray showed her stomach had flipped and when they got in there the blood suply had been cut off to her spleen so they removed that too.. at about 7am she was recovered enough we allowed her pups to nurse and I headed home to get some sleep hoping to pick her and the pups up the next morning.. I hadn't even gotten in the door at home when they were calling to say she had no milk, and they would try to bottle feed the pups.
Camilla from Sentinel Hart's German Shepherds had text me and said she had a couple momma dogs if I needed to bring them down to her place in Livermore area (about 3 hrs south of me) so without sleep, my best friend Drove me to pick up the pups and then we headed to Livermore. All went well with placing them with Camillas momma dogs and such a blessing to have such good friends.. the puppies are in wonderful hands and doing very well..
Back to Rayne.. she continued to have heart arythmeia which they say is very common with the type of trauma she had and that her heart shows no signs of any previous problems. They were able to get it under control with oral medication.. and I just picked her up and we are on our way home.
Because of the high cost of the surgery, two of my friends let me use their credit cards as they want payment at time of service. I appreciate all the help and any amount you can do is greatly appreciated. The bill was close to $6000.00.. but her only options were surgery or death. God bless everyone for their thoughts and prayers and know that if the tables turn I will be there to help with what I can.

Thanks everyone.
Kim
