Im doing some research now on working line pups and hope to purchase a new pup in the upcoming months..Im in no rush so have time to seek opinions and do research of my own...basically my background with working line dogs is briefly handling a sch 1 titled dog that was trained and used as a single purpose duty dog..my intentions with the puppy are to join a sch club and learn/train the sport..ive always been intrigued with schutzhund and found a club local to me that are willing to help..i want to start with a pup so i can learn the foundation of raising a sch dog I think the more i can learn from the beginning will help me in the long run and give me better understanding of things..this dog will also be a pet and be around kiddos (ages 5and7)
A guy in my town has a dog out of canineconcepts. He is a Bastin son and this kennel was recommended to me by him..i have been reeding up on their stud dog "drago" and he seems to be quite impressive...
I know a pup can be a crapshoot and need suggestions on where to look when it comes time to purchase..as far as drago, what are sime upcoming breedings that i should be looking at or any other upcoming breedings with other suggestions..i want a dog that has tge drivesand characteristics to do schutzhund but that is level headed enough to be around children..
i appreciate any suggestions on where/how to get into the sport, kennel/breeding suggestions, and any literature/videos i can look into
Thanks in advance

PM the poster Aarowsmith. He might be inclined to share his experience that included researching a high drive WL dog. He also has two children like you do, and probably has great tips.
