What do you like the most about your GSD/s?

That Bosco thinks Martin is the world's biggest rockstar. He always has to see exactly what Martin is doing ....he'll even lay there for hours while Martin weeds the garden.

The thing I like the best is that my GSD always gives me at least 4 or 5 good laughs every day.  She does something silly or dives into a dish of food like it's her last meal or when I wake up and she's there next to me on her back sound asleep. She always makes a great day out of a bad one.

The 3 distinct personalities of our GSD; Beckett the couch potato-he still tries to be the man, even tho' the 2 girls boss him around mercilessly; Ansgar the silly, a bouncy 6 year old puppy, always happy, never doing what she's told ("Okay I'll platz, for 4 seconds! There's something cool over there! Sitz? Yeah, sure--after I give you 40 kisses 'cause I love you!") That's why I never have pictures of her, she's always just a blur! and then there's Lil' Bit...she who must be obeyed. Bark, bark=get outta bed, the sun is almost completely up! Bark, bark=take care of the other bitches eyes! Bark, bark= it's almost 11pm & the kitchen lights are still on! Get with it! She know the household routines & insists they are followed. That's her job. Ansgar barks at knocks on the door, Beckett alerts to outside 'threats'. Each has their own job, & watching them 'on duty' is both amazing & amusing! jackie harris

I find it very interesting that between my two dogs, if we have workers come into the yard for whatever reason, they rather enjoy Rhino hanging out with them and lending his presense to the job at hand. In the same breath they'll say, "It's just that other one, we don't really like big dogs like that."

Of course, I chuckle to myself because Rhino weighs a good ten pounds more than Mojo. It is the GSD aloofness, I think that makes people leery and it becomes obvious what exactly that is, when both dogs are present. And I like that about the GSD. There is no way Mojo is going to hop into the back of some strangers truck, but Rhino... he probably would! Makes me worried at times, that someone could steal him away because he's so good natured, just a perfect pet.

I love to hear these kind of stories.
Adding my own.
Rose - My dog twin. Her personality matches mine to a T. From the "leave me along until I have had my coffee" to "let's go, no sense in laying around, day light is burning." Everything to and in my heart.
Cirberus - Tells everyone "good morning" and very loudly. She is a morning dog, much to everyone's dismay. Her favorite place is in my arms, all 56 lbs.
Max - My thinker. Everything is analized and thought through. You can almost see the wheels turn in his head. Oh, and my bee hunter.
Baron - The "Big dog on campus." He says jump and all the other dogs (except for Max now) asks how high. Max just says "bite me." He is the one that I know if the chips are down, he will protect me and claw through anything or anyone if needed.
Bane (lab x) - The family clown. For a bag of nerves, he is the happiest dog I have ever seen. Everything is a wiggle and giggle. Even in a down stay, he is constantly wiggling.

Jack Flash- could have played outtfield for a major league baseball team, or been on the world cup soccer team... My protector who saved me from being car-jacked... The most obedient dog I ever had- he never needed to be told something twice to learn it.  Loved to wear baseball hats or any kind of a hat... A real lover boy but protective when needed...Gave me my real love for the breed which I will always have. because of him...

Joss- IMPOSSIBLE to ever have a straight face when he was around. From his acting as the centerpiece on my formally set dining room table ( set the table for a dinner party -came back into the room, and there he was in the middle of the dining table. He had jumped straight up without breaking  dish or a glass)...Joooooooos! as he was known, his name elongated and with  an exclamation point, out of exasperation,  known for stealing my husbands money clip and prancing across the floor with a $20 bill in his mouth, every now and then ( we never did find the money clip), to stealing a bakers dozen of bagels from the kitchen counter and hiding them in every orifice of every couch in the house, to stealing all the socks out of DH's cubby, and me waking up in the morning to seeing *sock haven* again, in every orifice of every couch and chair in the house, to stealing italian bread, running into the back of his crate where  he knew I couldnt get him while glaring at me with a haha expression defiantly on his face. He was the biggest charecter of all my GSDS...He needed an exorcist- always makes me think of the song "Born to be Wild".. He was a tough boy, an alpha male, but just drop dead hilarious with the mischief he always created.

Missie T- OMG- just the thought of her sweetness takes my breath away. Totally trustworthy with everyone, even newborn babies...a huge, gentle lamb who just loved to please. A dog who NEVER did anything wrong, ever.(.I dont think I ever had to reprimand her even ONCE in her entire life.).As easy going as easy going can get, and gave new meaning to that phrase. A trooper, always trying to help me help her. So sweet cotton candy would be sour, in comparison. Always *smiling* with the sweetest soulful eyes that I will never forget...I cant say anymore, or I will meltdown...

Casey James- the cowardly lion who needs to visit the wizard of Oz for courage...Lots of surgeries as a young pup, couldnt go out the first 1 3/4 yrs of his life.( Most people probably would have returned him to the breeder)  Aside from his whackadoodle temperament ( doesnt like strangers or other animals), he is very easy to live with. He is full of energy and can play and swim for 4-5 hrs without tiring, yet, he is very happy just cuddling or digging in his bed. The best traveler I ever had...Smart, very protective (only a lunatic would mess with me and they wouldnt mess very long as they would be dead in very short order). He is a real mama's boy and never creates any kind of havoc in the house. He is never seen during the day without his rubber swim fish in his mouth (I think it has fused with his tongue;) )  and at night, he never goes to bed without his stuffed monkey, which he brings into my bed every night, makes it shriek several times, and then goes to sleep with his head on it...

Each one is different, and each one lovable for who they are...
