Can someone tell me about this kennel, a few of her dogs do not seem all that impressive to me one by the name of Goliath Vom Perry yet she ask a pretty penny for her puppies. she says pedigrees date back to the 1800, but i have a pet quality shepherd and his pedigree goes all the way back to the first German Shepherd cant think of his name at the moment, but that dont make my dogs off spring worth $1000. I may be missing something but the pedigrees of some of her dogs doesn't show anything.

Really   Correct me if I am wrong.  This sounds like one breeder upset with another because they get more money for their puppies and have come here to try and get everyone else to bash them.

Really if you want as much money ask for it. If you get it OK if not then so be it.  

Would you like to post your dogs names so we can compare them and your web site.

Exuse me i am not trying to get anyone to bash anybody, I was simply asking a question, nor am i upset with this breeder, i don't even know about them just wondering if anyone else did. I'm sorry if i offended you or anyone else. That was not my intentions.  and for the record i am not a breeder.

First and foremost when a site proclaims in big letters that their dogs go back to the founders of the breed that is a huge red flag that you are dealing with a possible scam artist and certainly a "promoter".  ALL dogs of ANY breed go back to the founders - that's how it BECAME a breed.

Secondly she claims her dogs go back to 1848. Small problem the GSD did not exist yet and wouldn't for another 51 years.

Thirdly looking at dear old Goliath's lines, they are the worst of back yard breeding and she is proudly proclaiming he is a dog that does not meet the standard by saying he is 140 lbs ( wh/ I doubt anyways).

Finally she makes bogus claims about the pedigrees on her dogs for ex claiming Goliath is East german and West german breeding - any german breeding is 4 or more gen back and only a small fraction of the overall pedigree - most of which can not be traced further back than 3 gen never mind to 1848. Also I would love for her to point out which of these dogs is East german since I see none in this 7 gen pedigree http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/pedigree.simplechart?dogid=736092 ( and note she links to this pedigree database)

Why the heck ANYONE would pay this person so much as a dime for any of her dogs is way beyond me - if any are out there please enlighten us because for the money she is charging you could get a true quality GSD and in some cases one that is already trained to a BH or better level.

I suggest what rules is PT Barnum's famous saying - a sucker is born every minute.

Thats what i mean i do not know much about pedigrees but i could not find any thing on the dogs backgrounds that showed all that she states, i didnt know if i was just not understanding or just not knowledgable enough to know.  i have seen dogs with pedigrees that have alot of titles in the pedigrees for the same price. Thought i might be missing something, so my future pup i will look elsewhere for

I'm in a facebook group and someone was RECCOMMENDING this shoddy breeder. Couldn't believe it. To top it off their dog was quite frankly hideous. 

OP - let us help you find a reputable breeder. tel us a bit about your history with the breed and what you want and why and what plans you have for your next dog.  If you go to the Jordan Haus thread on p4 I posted a question to them aobut where and how they looked for a dog and asked why oh why had they chosen to buy off the web. There are some ideas in that post that you might use in your search to find a LOCAL reputable breeder.

Also it sounds like you may need to doa bit of studying to learn about pedigree lines and titles and what they all mean. Again let us help you learn.

Yes Blitzen that is the sentence that made me think that this person had an agenda and that is why I posted what I did. 

I still see something wrong in bashing another kennel/dog without putting yours out here for others to compare.

I don't think that to teach someone what to look for in a kennel you need to name one.  Your dog/kennel may not be what someone else thinks is so great, how would you feel if they named you and ran you down.

By posting the better things to look for, then you are educating the Buyer as well as many Sellers and maybe you can make a difference with both and thus the Breed.

To teach and do no harm to others is an art we should all strive for.
