I didn't think anything of it nor did I witness a tie but 2 weeks later I started noticing changes in her. She wouldn't eat much and she was throwing up. By my calculations she should be 55 days today and this past Thursday I noticed a clear, ordorless stringy discharge coming from her vulva and her boobs r a little bigger and had a little milk leak.
I can't get her into the vet yet because they don't have an opening until around the time she's due to whelp and the only way he'd see her sooner is if I do the whole after hours thing in which he charges a lot for jjst the office visit and anything after is 3 times the amount it would be for a regular visit.
her temperature has been averaging 100 the past few days since I have been taking her temp but Saturday morning at around 920am her temp was 99.4 but 12 hours later at 920pm it was 100.5 and yesterday morning at 925am her temp was 99.8 but 925pm her temp was 100.9 I'm waiting to take her temp this morning until around 920am to see what it is.
I think she's hiding them in her ribs cage area cuz her stomach doesn't look pregnant at all but if u look at her rib cage area it looks like a little bump on both sides. My boyfriend is in denial right now about her being pregnant and says he wont believe it until she has puppies lol.
she's been nesting in the kiddie pool I got her. I got her a big kiddie pool. I mean this kiddie pool is huge, I was surprised walmart had one that size lol and I put her xl taxi cab thing the transport kennel inside it and she still has room to lay just in the pool and have puppies safely but she can sleep in the kennel if she'd rather and I put sheets in both the kennel and the pool.
I need advice though. Does this sound like she's getting ready to whelp? I have heard of false pregnancies but I don't think this is the case with her but I'm not sure. I've never had a dog her size have puppies before. My chihuahua has twice before I got her fixed and well let's face it, chihuahuas are much easier to tell with as they are so small. Lol
any advice is appreciated

Find another vet and either get ultra sound or x-ray.

That generally means they will be born within 24 hours. Get your whelping area and supplies ready! Good luck!

If you are sure she mated on April 22 then count forward for 62-63 days. That is the normal gestation time for dogs plus or minus 5 days.
Temp taking is but one indication, another is some don't eat the meal before whelping starts others do a tremendous amount of nesting before hand these are the most common ones I have encountered.

First thing that came to mind was find another vet.
Looks like you will have to do a wait & see, just make her whelping area as quiet and comfortable as possible.
Make sure you have some dental floss for tying off the cords, I usually take the pups away, tie off the cord, wipe the pup off and then hand them back to mom, you should also see if she wants to eat the after birth, that helps bring in milk,
Good luck, and remember, her natural instincts should kick in!
