My neighbors bought a beautiful SL male from a breeder nearby. Anyways, both parents are registered and they want to know how they can register their pup. Any insight is welcome!!
Thanks,
Vonrivera

The breeder didn't give them papers?

No! That is what is really confusing me!

Did your friend sign a contract, which stated that the papers would be supplied?
If not, can ask the breeder, if the breeder says no, then they can offer to pay for them.

SitasMom, no he didn't sign a contract which is super suprising. I will tell him to ask the breeder. Does the breeder have to register the dog, or can he do it himself?
Thanks,

He can do it himself, ONCE he gets the puppy papers from breeder

The breeders will need to have registered the litter with AKC, then provided the puppy buyers with a regristration application for each individual puppy-just went through the process with my new boy.

It will depend on what reasons no registration papers were given to the buyer in the first place. That reason will determine if the dog can be registered. I do know for a fact that an entire litter does not need to be registered in order to have an individual pup registered. Also the breeder does not necessarily have to be the one to register that puppy. Of course this would involve alot of paperwork and could get costly. Sometimes working with AKC is not the easiest thing. I will say though. they are or at least very thorough with getting everything verified.
Vonrivera, Private message me and I can go into more details and hopefully can help you to get the answers you are seeking.

If the litter was advertised as "registered GSD puppies" then would the papers be required to be supplied?

AND, I would like to know how someone can get AKC registration papers, IF the breeder does not provide them..
