I can certainly believe the 135 pounds looking at his waistline! I'd guess American/German showline mix, lots of the German showline dogs are oversize, but the head looks American,

Shtal, where did your parents live? What part of the country? And how long ago was this.
I know of several kennels that breed for oversized Shepherds (Royalair, for example.) There was also a breeder in upper New York state who bred oversized GSD's, then went on to start her own breed (Shiloh Shepherds.)

OMG! Those are the biggest gs I've ever seen. It just doesn't look right to me! They look like miniature ponies.

Shtal, I am going to guess the dog picture on the beach to be about 110-120 lb maybe 27 inchs to shoulder. Looks like a dog that can pull a cart or sled. Look at the chest area and shoulder line. Hindquarter muscles are very strong too. I bet that his back is broad also. If you were to break down the anatomy and see the large lung, and heart area, this dog could work all day with heavy loads. JMO
