I would love to hear any history on this dog.

Is that Robert Penny Handling?

ThinkingI thought at least SS would have an opinion,  having read an older comment by her.

I just recently discovered Mojo has this dog in his pedigree when some holes were linked.

Did the fledgling Shilo's use him, too? Seemed my googling was giving me this thought?

He was shown on the Pacific coast, so I imagine back then location would be a consideration on stud use, more so than today?

I'll bet SS will comment on this when she sees it or you could send her a PM. Looks like this dog was part of the Shiloh breeding plan. That's not a bad thing. The photo looks like a specialty win or another important AKC win.

I could be wrong here but I have Tina Barber's initial breed book she put out and while he may have been mentioned I believe it was more so as him having been behind dogs she began with, not that he was specifically used. I'll have to remember where that book is hmmm

He is in all my dogs pedigree in the small amount of old American lines I have through this dog Zbeau:

Here is another picture of the handsome guy!

Mirasmom, I tried postng that picture yesterday. It keep telling me the file was too big. I tried to downsize it several times than just gave up.  Back in the late 80's I purchased a Phantom grand daughter.  One of the best dogs I EVER owned!

Oh I see you also, have the big orange bible by Anna Katherine Nicholas.  It was probably one of the first GSDs books I bought.

Helen Miller Fisher, a blast from the past. She imported some very good dogs from Germany back in the day and was an all breed AKC judge.I'm pretty sure that's Jimmie Moses handling.

Thanks YR. Unfortunately due to health reasons, I stopped breeding had my girl spayed and she was only my personal protection dog. I wish I had bred her once more to keep something off those lines.

Blitzen, I don't think that is Jimmy Moses.
