I also would go online and get the AKC pedigree. It will give you more dogs to look into, possible other kennel names to get a better grasp of the bloodline.

Don't give up hope yet, and I wish the dog and it's family all the best.

Thanks.....I'm hoping she's done this now....!  Ordered the paperwork or looked on AKC site to check lines. Also trying to get her on here to read or give her input.  She's just been a GSD owner/rescuer thus far....and not familiar with database.   So....:-)

I'l try to find out if anyone I know in the GSDCA knows her. I'm sorry to hear that this dog is having so many health issues. I've been there, done that with my first GSD and it's a terrible thing for everyone.

Just one more thought about her balance problem - sometimes dogs have an inner ear disease that can cause those symptoms. Has she been checked for that?

I did advice her to look under Shiloh health issues and try to get better understanding of the issues or what lays in the lnes there.

This sounds neurological. The only neurological problem that shows up in the Shiloh lines (that I'm aware of) is DM. Even that shows up less frequently than in the GSD.

The symptoms make me think it would be wise to rule out a brain tumor.  What Smile  Lyme could be a possiblility, too.

Here's the link to the International Shiloh Shepherd Registry Genetic Task Force Health Survey:

She's my dog . We have to numerous vets , she was diagnosed almost 2 yrs ago with severe hip dysplasia and arthritis . Has always been very weak legged and shaky legged and limpy on and off depending on if shes played toouch/long, but always very mobile . The over the last few months she's basically become immobile .Shes negative for DM , Lyme . We just went to the vet and had x-rays again on Monday . Hers knees are very swollen slot of fluid and tears . Now we meet with and orthopedic surgeon on Tuesday , hoping there is something that can be done . I contacted the breeder asking about parents and siblings , she was quick to reply and say all her dogs are great no issues . When I explained further our issues with our girl she stopped communication . I have yet to recieve any of the parents info except what's on her paperwork and our girl won't even be 4 until may .

I really feel for you and your family. I wish you the best with the new vet.

I actually found the MG thing awhile back and that really fit the bill from what I have heard and video seen on her dog.  I did find it in a Shiloh search of documented health issues.  Now I say  documented health issues but it may of been a record of GSD symptons in general BUT I found it in a Shiloh health articles.   And I'm sure both share the same issues to a degree, I really don't know on that one.

So the brain tumor is a good check and the MG I'm thinking at this point for her.  Can videos be uploaded to these threads?

Oh...and inner ear is one not thought of BUT I don't think that would explain the arthritis as much....but very good idea to look into.....

Shilohs are about 90% GSD (mainly American lines, but an outcross done in the '90s was to a longhaired black working line GSD, whose ancestors were mostly SV registered), so, yes, they do get a lot of the same issues. As a matter of fact, I know of a Shiloh that was DNA tested, and came back as PURE GSD, even though it had the outcross to Secret Samson Woo, a dog that was supposedly a giant malemute, only 3 or 4 generations back!
