I have an xray of my dogs hips from this past December when we got xrays of his shoulders. I don't know if its decent quality, but I don't really know what to look for myself. Any one have any opinion? It would be much appreciated!

is the xray distorted - (photo of an xray file being held up to the light)?

how old is the puppy at time of xray?

He was 9 months at the time...I had to resize it, so that might be me? It was much longer originally..I've uploaded it again, so hopefully its a little better. But if it wasn't bc of the resizing, I am not sure. I really am no good at any of this...just curious!

much better!
the right hip is a slightly loose, left hip is good.
loosness might be becasue the leg isn't rotated as much as the right hip.
keep him in good physical condition and he should be fine.

I disagree about the right hip being slightly loose. IMO normal for breed and age.

Thanks for the input! I'm sure I'll have them xrayed again when hes older, but I've always been curious. Hes got a slight (imagined on my part!?) hitch in his back left leg, but bears weight and doesn't seem in pain...so I was thinking hips (I already took him to the vet but they thought his cruciate felt nice/tight).

Agree with Blitzen. Hips look totally normal for the age.
