Hi to everyone that was following my posts about the little runty guy "Jasper"
Well, Jasper is now "Chip" named after casino chips (for the odds) and also
Beauty and The Beast>the little cup named Chip that had a chip in it
He has gone to a new home with a lady that has had many Shepherds in the past, all did therapy dog work,
he lives with two long haired Whippets a boy and a girl, they do agility and are active therapy dogs.
Chip is already doing therapy dog with them and he is a big hit!
He has a grade 3 heart murmur and is seeing a cardioligist at Angell in Boston next week.
Chip now weighs 15.8 pounds!!!!
He stopped by for a visit yesterday and I snapped a photo of him, he looked so happy!
Here is a before and after picture of Chip!

Chip is adorable! Is he officially a dwarf GSD? ... Not just a runty guy? What was decided???

What an adorable pup! He is very nice looking. What can be done about a grade 3 heart murmer?

beetree, he is just a small pup, not a dwarf
I am certain his adult weight should be in the range of 65-70 pounds, if not more
Starrchar, he will have tests done to see if he needs an operation to fix the murmur, that would be great,
I will know more after April 8th and I'll let you know, so far he is an active pup eating & playing but
dones get a little pooped out and needs to have a rest.
Heart murmurs are graded 1-6 with 6 being the worse...
The lady that owns him now said she had a Whippet with a grade 3 heart murmur that lived to be 13 yrs old
I just fiqure he's here for a reason, he really shouldn't be alive, now that he's doing therapy work I just believe
that is his purpose

Heart defects can cause slow weight gain in children. I would imagine the same could be true for puppies. Might explain why he was small and has remained small.

Thanks for the explanation. I don't know anything about heart murmers in dogs, so I appreciate the info. It sounds like there is a good posibility of this pup living a long and healthy life even without surgery. I know you will find out more from the testing. Please keep us posted. I love that he is already doing therapy work ♥

He should have been called "headmaster", headon, headquarter, or even arrowhead for his "non chip-like" head!
Of course, he is a cute and adoring lovely lad now.

Thanks all!
NigerDeltaMann, Thanks, I noticed he does have a nice head and thick bones for a little guy!
I will always remember him as "Jasper"
