Hey, I have a 8 Months German Shepherd which is my first dog to own,( had him since he was 40 days old)  I love his so much but his eyes turned out to be so light so i started doubting whether he is a pure GSD or not can someone help?

Your dog's eyes look light, but also normal for GSDs.

So he is still a GSD not a mix or maybe not that pure?

He definately looks pure GSd. Bet he does not care what color your eyes are :-)

They are lighter than is desirable, but there are no perfect dogs and he's pure GSD. Joan is most certainly right!

Thank you so much guys :D just didnt like the idea of him turning out after 8 months to be not pure or smthn

Honestly i think the eyes look just fine. I know the standard calls for dark eyes, but i'd take light eyes over frog legged hunched backs dogs any day. Both shepherds are very lovely looking animals.

Not much more I can add that hasn't already been said... but I will say that I think his eyes look very striking!

GSD Lineage

Most use preferred for dark and undesired for light, few use fault, but it is common, and many top show / working dogs have had yellow eyes.
Standards GSD on eyes DATES unknown:

CKC:
Eyes of medium size, almond shaped, set a little obliquely and not protruding. The colour as dark as possible. Eyes of lighter colour are sometimes found and are not a serious fault if they harmonize with the general colouration, but a dark brown eye is always to be preferred.

AKC:
Eyes of medium size, almond shaped, set a little obliquely and not protruding. The color is as dark as possible.

FCI:
The eyes are of medium size, almond-shaped, slightly slanted and not protruding. The colour of the eyes should be as dark as possible. Light, piercing eyes are undesirable since they impair the dog’s impression.
